Learning about ourselves is a salient aspect of life. As life goes by all, it teaches you to know your self more than anyone else does. Well, as much long the process of personal development is, it sure does help us thrive in this independent society.

Along with life, we work hard for our development of skills and qualities to become a successful individual. We set goals and work towards reaching the point of our dreams.
While Maslow and other psychologists have given out a bunch of hierarchies, theories, and books explaining this, I think it can be put in simpler words. The primary concept remains, being aware of your self and your needs.
Before going to shop groceries, we generally check with what's at home and make a list of things we need to buy and then shop the necessities. There are always steps that we follow for any action. It's pretty much the same.
Now, this is like consuming and not as easy as a shopping list because it involves us, thereby making it more, challenging.

This involves a step of 4 - Realizing, accepting, valuing, and assessing our needs and aspirations. Being aware of your thoughts and actions improves the quality of your life on a regular basis, helping you to think before your actions, analyze and learn from them, after.
There are more things that we do on a regular basis, like building our knowledge, improving our careers, health, and social relations. All we need to do is continue doing our best those areas and also build our self-confidence, improve our abilities for the future prospects of life, set our goals, and find ways to work towards it, accepting your identity and working on building your self-esteem.
Now while that might seem like a huge list, almost half of it gets ticked, the moment you have accepted yourself for who you are. The rest of it happens along the way with a little effort of yours. We need to assess ourselves in every one of these steps because there is no better teacher for you than yourself. At the end of the day, it makes us a better decision-maker, with an improved and better way of living and relationships. Our personal development process helps us become a thriving individual in this independent society.
