So the idea of writing about the Education system occurred to me when I was watching the news about the reforms made for 2020 in the economy. The financial minister Nirmala Sitharaman, was addressing a meeting, talking about the reforms for 2020. So that's when I got an idea of writing about it. As we all know that education is the base foundation in shaping a kid from his/her young self to a responsible citizen. So, it's the nation's duty to educate them in a well-mannered way where the future generation is not only taught about theoretical knowledge but also practical knowledge for critical and rational thinking.

Talking about education, there are various things to talk about as Education is a vast topic in itself, I think we can just stick to a few points and not the whole topic itself. When I did a little question and answer session on social media, I found a variety of ideas about education and how it should be reformed.

The most common thoughts that I found are:

  1. Education not only be bookish, practical knowledge much be given

  2. Everyone should have access to education

  3. Moral and ethical values should be taught

  4. Free education for people under poverty

  5. Teaching on the basis of student’s capabilities

  6. Wide range of choices for future studies

  7. Little less complicated rules

  8. Reducing the syllabus and also reducing the number of exams

  9. Giving access to vocational education

These are some of the ideas that can be implied in our education system. By making such reforms, we open our gates to a bright future for the next generation of kids. Bookish knowledge is important but practical knowledge helps in developing a personality with rational thinking. Talking about the current situation, kids are like clay, we older ones are responsible for molding them into a better person. This job comes with a lot of responsibility because the moulding is not just a parent’s job, teachers and people from outside to influence kids, which shapes their mindset, leaving them with millions of thoughts. We as parents, teachers, and citizens should mould the kids to be a better person and a responsible citizen. Talking about the taboo topics can be a great start for parents in moulding the kids. Reducing the burden at the school level can shape a better mindset and giving various choices can help them choose a better pathway.
